Science in the Bible: Verses Christians Don't Believe

Is science in the Bible?

It is, and even creationists don't believe everything the Bible says about science. Here's a list of verses that no Christians believe.

Again I point out my dissatisfaction with the term creationist as meaning those who are against evolution or believe in a young earth. I am a creationist because I believe God created everything, whether or not he used evolution to produce modern life.

With no good alternative, though, I am forced to stick to common usage.

Science in the Bible: Verses No Christian Believes

I am quoting these in the King James Version because many anti-evolutionists are King James only. If it's relevant to quote a modern version, I have added that as well.

  • Genesis 1:7: "And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament."
  • Note: No matter how much it is denied, the fact remains that the Hebrew word for "firmament" means something solid.

  • MODERN VERSION OF GENESIS 1:7: "So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it." (NIV).
  • Judges 5:20: "They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera."
  • 1 Samuel 2:8: "The pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them."
  • Job 37:18: "Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?"
  • MODERN VERSION OF JOB 37:18: " ... can you join him in spreading out the skies, hard as a mirror of cast bronze?" (NIV).
  • Psalm 96:10: "The world also shall be established that it shall not be moved."
  • Revelation 6:13: "And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind."

There is something outrageous about such a huge body of evidence being put together, then being confirmed in all kinds of other scientific disciplines, particularly genetics, and having other people just sort of deny it for reasons that have nothing to do with truth.
