New old earth

God made Adam and Eve 15-40 years old, we think. God may have made an old earth. If the earth were stamped with a six thousand year old copyright date man would not need to take the dramatic leap of faith that Kierkegaard described so lengthily. There would be no atheists, there would be Jews and Muslims but the perfect timeline of the Torah would have almost assuredly have ruled out all other major religions based on there inaccurate timeline.

Why were we not born into heaven? Because God administers a test of faith. My argument for creation is simple If god exists and he is who he says then he doesn't lie and he said he created the earth. Thus the only thing left to prove to myself is that the God I believe in is a real God. My introduction with God happened as follows; because I felt the supernatural presence of God I accepted him into my life, and after this experience of becoming a believer, the existence of God is incontrovertible. I see God work in my life and those around me daily. I feel his presence and appreciate the obviously spiritual blessings he provides.
My answer does not answer to natural law but neither does my God.

New old universe?
by: Anonymous

Is it correct to say that those who believe earth was created 6000 years ago also believe that the universe was created 6000 years ago?

If yes, then there is a problem with this statement. We know that there are astronomical objects whose distances with the earth are bigger than 6000 light years. I think it's reasonable to think that when God created the stars, the photons (the light particles) from the stars we observed on earth came directly from the stars. But since photons travel at a finite speed (the speed of light), this mean that if God to create the universe in its 'old' age, then God also has to create photons within 6000 light year distance away from the earth, but these photons must behave as if they had come from objects/stars further away. Now, why would God do that?

The only reason I can think of is to deceive those who can measure distances from earth to stars. But our God is not a deceiver.

I don't let many (if any) comments from readers make it onto the Proof of Evolution blog, but I added this one.
